Liquid kicked things off against ATK, who were selected alongside Singularity to fill the two spots in ESL Pro League Season 10 Americas that were left vacant following the disbanding of the Ghost and ex-Luminosity rosters.
The No. 2 team in the world made their presence on the server known early, responding to ATK‘s pistol win with a force-buy that saw Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski get a triple kill with the Deagle. Liquid moved up to a 3-1 scoreline before ATK were able to put up a trio of their own, but from there the match remained firmly in control of Nick “nitr0” Cannella and company as they only conceded a single round before closing the map 16-5.
ATK fared no better on Liquid‘s pick of Dust2 as EliGE and Keith “NAF” Markovic combined to help their side to a twelve-round spree to kick things off, with the latter player remaining deathless for the first eleven. ATK mustered two rounds towards the end of the half and added another pistol win to the board, but much like on Vertigo, were firmly locked out of any chance at a comeback as Liquid quickly closed things out 16-3.
A strong performance from jks allowed Renegades to take a 7-1 lead on Inferno as their matchup against Singularity got underway. Collin “wrath” McSweegan helped his side to respond with four rounds to reduce the deficit, adding another quad kill to his tally to close out the half to leave Renegades leading 9-6. Multi-kill rounds from jks saw Renegades continue to further their lead following the side swap, leaving Singularity trailing despite multi-frag rounds from their players and an ace from wrath. The Australian side were up 15-8 before Singularity were able put another two rounds on the board, but four kills from jks on a pistol buy allowed for Renegades to close things out.
jks‘ good form continued on Mirage, helping his team to a 4-1 start on their own map pick. Singularity were able to tie things up at 5-5, but the final five rounds of the half went the way of Renegades as the Australians posted a command 10-5 lead on the offense. A trio of rounds thanks to a pistol victory had Singularity narrow the gap between them and their opponents, but once Renegades had rifles in their hands, they once again commandeered control of the proceedings to once again to secure a second 16-10 victory.
The standings for Group C now look as follows:
