Heroic had advanced to the final of the single-elimination qualifier following victories over Nemiga and pro100, both by a 2-0 scoreline, while Tricked had reached the last stage after beating Aristocracy and Sprout, with both series going to all three maps.
The best-of-three kicked off on Inferno, which Heroic opened up with a nearly flawless pistol round victory. However, they were unable to convert the next one as Nicolai “HUNDEN” Petersen and co ripped through the B site with a force buy, marking the beginning of what would be a close brawl between the two.
The second half ensued in a similar fashion to that of the first, Tricked securing a confident 13-7 lead before having it stripped away by Heroic, resulting in overtime. The game continued into three sets of overtime before Heroic finally locked down their map pick 25-23, with Martin “stavn” Lund racking up 57 kills, 24 more than his closest teammate.
Up next was Overpass, which began at a much different pace when compared to its predecessor. It was clear that Tricked were mentally drained from the triple-overtime game they had just played as their map pick quickly slipped out of their control. HUNDEN and co were unable to get anything going on their offense, resulting in a 3-12 half in Heroic’s favor. The huge deficit proved to be too much for Tricked to come back from as they were only able to win three more rounds on their CT-side before falling 6-16.
