Doubles by Justin “jks” Savage and Aaron “AZR” Ward in the first pistol round propelled Renegades to the lead on the attacking side of Nuke, but it wouldn’t last long as FURIA managed to win the forcebuy, further increasing their lead to 4-1. The Brazilians were unable to contain Renegades despite the early lead as the Aussies closed the gap to one, 5-6, but with Andrei “arT” Piovezan and Henrique “HEN1” Teles both clocking over 120 ADR after 15 rounds and 19 frags each, FURIA were able to make a getaway and hit double digits 10-5 at the half.
The boys closed distances early on in the second half, winning a clean pistol round, but once again were unable to convert on the follow-up, allowing the Brazilian team to once again take a 3-1 partial in the first four rounds of the half, making it 13-6. Doubles by jks and Joakim “jkaem” Myrbostad gave Renegades another round. At 13-8, FURIA played one of their trademark fast rounds, hitting the B site and planting in a 4vs3, prompting the CTs to save. Jay “Liazz” Tregillgas kept his team alive with three shotgun frags on A, albeit just momentarily as FURIA went on to close the first map out 16-9.
Renegades won another pistol round with AZR and Liazz scoring two kills each on the attacking side of Mirage. It looked like FURIA were going to have a chance at winning another forcebuy, but this time Sean “Gratisfaction” Kaiwai won a 1vs2 afterplant clutch to keep his team in the lead. FURIA finally got on the board on the fifth round without losing a single player, but another clean A execute by Renegades kept them ahead. Aleksandar “kassad” Trifunović’s men started to deflate, losing control of the half as FURIA turned their slow start around to take an 8-7 lead before switching sides.
FURIA won a clean first round of the the second half, following it up against a forcebuy. Despite losing against an eco after that, Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato clutched a 1vs2 making the beginning of the second half a scrappy one as teams both scrambled to make proper buys. Two AWP kills and three pistol kills tilted the balance in favor of Renegades who started to mount the comeback bringing it back to 11-11. FURIA took control of the A site and B site in the following two rounds, winning both of them to inch closer to the consolidation final. The Brazilians then went on to win the half out, 16-11, securing their presence in the consolidation final.
