In their offline debut with Maikil “Golden” Selim and Robin “flusha” Rönnquist, fnatic managed to significantly surpass expectations, lifting the trophy after beating the likes of Astralis and Vitality.
The next Intel Grand Slam event is IEM Beijing, where fnatic won’t be in competition, but the other two Intel Grand Slam Season 3 tournament winners will. Alongside them, Astralis, Vitality, FaZe, and mousesports will be looking for their first Intel Grand Slam Season 3 notch.
After Liquid‘s speedy Intel Grand Slam Season 2 victory, the rules of the competition have been changed to increase the difficulty of winning the $1,000,000 prize. In season 3, teams can now still win the Intel Grand Slam by claiming four titles, but only if at least one of the four is from a Masters Championship event, which for 2020, will be IEM Katowice and ESL One Cologne (and any potential Major run by either ESL or DreamHack). Otherwise, teams are required to win six tournaments inside a window of ten events to win the Intel Grand Slam.
The played out and upcoming Intel Grand Slam Season 3 events are as follows:
IEM Chicago – Liquid
ESL One New York – Evil Geniuses
DreamHack Masters Malmö – fnatic
IEM Beijing – November 7-10
ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals – December 3-8
IEM Katowice 2020 – February 25-March 1
ESL One Cologne 2020 – July 6-12
