FaZe had a good start in the first pistol round, getting to the A site in a split, but it was NiP who were able to retake the 3vs1 plant to secure the early lead. Three frags by Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and two by Helvijs “broky” Saukants tied it up, as the European combine went on to take a 3-1 lead ahead of the first proper gun round of the match. Doubles by NiKo and Marcelo “coldzera” David in a slow round kept FaZe ahead as they increased their lead to 5-1 against pistols. Another round won by FaZe in a gun round put NiP on a pistol buy once again, which they were unable to win as coldzera and company swarmed B to make it 7-1. NiP got a second round by stopping a 1vs2 clutch by Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer. That would be it for the Swedes, however, who got mauled to a 2-13 deficit before switching sides.
A triple by Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg in a 4vs4 afterplant situation gave NiP hope in the second half, but NiKo was quick to dispell it with four scout kills on the forcebuy. FaZe then hit match point on an eco bash before wrapping it up, 16-3, against a last round forcebuy.
Natus Vincere took the lead on the attacking side of Train as Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev and Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács both got doubles, but a failed play on B saw Cloud9 bring it back even. A 1vs3 clutch by s1mple then made it 2-2 as both teams traded rounds back-and-forth once again to go 3-3. Na`Vi managed to take a 5-3 lead against a financially depleted Cloud9. Triple entries by Denis “electronic” Sharipov exiting Ivy gave the Russian side another round as Cloud9 went back to pistols. Despite going down 4-7, a late rally got the North Americans a slim lead at the half, 8-7.
Cloud9 extended their lead with a B hit in the second pistol round, but losing against the forcebuy put them in deep trouble as Natus Vincere took the lead early on in the half on the defending side. Oscar “mixwell” Cañellas got two crucial AWP shots on the B site after two entries from electronic to deny Na`Vi match point and break their economy, prompting a 14-14 match after 28 rounds. It all came down to s1mple in a 1vs2 situation on the last round of the map, but he was unable to win it with both teams splitting the points at the end of regulation, 15-15.
