Both FaZe and Natus Vincere had gotten off to a great start at BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen before their encounter, picking up wins against two of the tournament’s favorites, Astralis and Liquid, respectively, before going up against each other on Nuke in the second round.
The map was Nuke and the early advantage went to the CT residents Na`Vi, who won the first five rounds handily, with FaZe giving away their only chance with a third-round buy that ended with time running out.
Nikola “NiKo” Kovač‘s team got on the board in the sixth and went on to equalize the scoreline at 6-6 with a dominant stretch, and despite Egor “flamie” Vasilyev clutching a 1v2 for his team, FaZe‘s recovery saw them end up with an 8-7 lead going into the second half.
Natus Vincere responded with the pistol round to level the score once more, but they soon found themselves struggling to find gaps in the defense, with FaZe reaching match point without dropping another round. Two rounds later, Marcelo “coldzera” David & co. emerged with their second victory of the day to start their run with a 2-0 record.
