The regional qualifier for the upcoming DreamHack Open stop in the Netherlands featured squads such as the new Epsilon lineup, Defusekids, and Sector One, but it was One One and Asterion that made their way through the BO1s and into the BO3 grand final.
The deciding match was quite straight forward. One One got off to a good start on Mirage, 5-1, but then Asterion, who featured two UK players in Thomas “Thomas” Utting and Joseph “Luzuh” Loose, grabbed control of the game and chained 15 rounds together to claim map one.
A similar scenario repeated on Inferno, where One One‘s pistol round victory was returned on by Asterion who went on to finish the defensive half 13-2 up. Winning the second pistol and the followups wasn’t enough for One One to have a fighting chance and Asterion finished out the map swiftly, 16-5.
With Asterion grabbing a slot at the $100,000 event, the team list for DreamHack Open Rotterdam, which will take place on October 18-20, has been finalized:
